After drawing that horsehead in a circle, I was inspired to do the same with other shapes. Took me a while to come up with this one. And as always, I'm not completely happy about it. I think the head of the horse is missing detail and looks too cartoonish. Maybe I'll do it over sometime.
I'm wondering if I should color in the background too with purple, the outlines of the mane and tail aren't as clear as I wanted them to be. Please give some advice!

I think it looks wonderful as it is currently... great use of complimentary colours, I really love the way the swirly mane and tail frames the picture, and the backlighting too, I love backlighting

This is gorgeous. Love the dynamic mane and tail, has a really nice design feel to it. Maybe you could do with darker tones on the horse especially round the neck. I think he is looking a bit washed out against the bright background.
